Time for an Autumn Homegroup Meeting

Hey Everyone!
We hope you're enjoying our slightly cooler weather this week. The milder temperatures have been a welcomed change around our home! Are you looking forward to the next home group meeting? It will be on Nov 2nd at Adam and Jennifer Tyler's new home in Nederland.

(Check the handout at church for their address... we thought it would be prudent not to list it here, on the internet.)

Eating...
Jennifer is making chili, and the rest of us can bring drinks and all the other things that go with chili. Let me know what you would like to bring.

Singing...
We are going to lead in a few praise songs before our devotion time during home groups - and for all the kids who come, we'll have supplies on-hand to make your own shaker instruments.

Praying...
As we look forward to a time of fellowship, keep each other in your prayers. And if any specific needs arise, let us know so we can lift you up.

Meeting On June 1st

Hello, Everyone!
Our next home group meeting will be in Groves, at the home of Glen and Katie Graham.

Sunday, June 1st 6:00 - 7:30

Watch for invitations handed out at church in the next week, or contact Shannon (330-0514) or Katie (962-7437) for details. Let us know what you would like to bring, and we'll give you easy directions too.

Oh, and the Grahams have a nice, big back yard, so bring your lawn chairs!!

We are so thankful for such a close-knit group of godly families to join for fun and fellowship! Looking forward to seeing you soon!

Picnic in the Park

This coming Sunday our home group will be meeting at Doornbos Park in Nederland.  The address is 2301 Avenue H in Nederland.  (click here for a Google Maps location)  We'll be there from 6:00-7:30pm, and everyone is bringing their own picnic supper for their families.

However, if you bring chocolate chip cookies, Jeff and Lindsay will be happy to share them with you.

Our devotion will be centered around the theme of Decision Making.  If you'd like to see where the discussion may take us, feel free to read these Scriptures:

Thanks for checking in! We had a great first meeting yesterday at the home of Jeff and Teena Phillips.

Our word for the night was “Character”, and the truth to consider was Character is who you are when no one is watching. We looked at a moment in the life of Joseph (in Genesis 39) when he was faced with a decision that tested his character. It was possible that no one would have known if he made the unwise choice; however, Joseph knew that God would know, and the thought of dishonoring God was unacceptable, even if he could have “gotten away with it.”
